The Project Officer will work with the Project Coordinator and other team members to achieve project success. Specifically, they will provide technical support and ensure successful implementation of violence against children programme across several counties in accordance with ICS SP programming guidelines, ICS SP rules and regulations, project proposals and donor compliance requirements. The Project Officer will be contrite to technical violence prevention processes and will be responsible for effective and efficient community and stakeholder mobilization, implementation, monitoring and reporting of violence prevention and response interventions, including strengthening systems for violence prevention and response from community to the county level.

Job Responsibility

  • Programme development and planning: Support in conducting relevant situational analysis and report on trends in violence against children and women in all settings (home, community, schools) and contribute to the development of evidence-based solutions, models, implementation tools and knowledge products. Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices to support the implementation and delivery of concrete and sustainable programme results.
  • Programme implementation: Work with the team to develop short and long-term plans for the assigned project, mobilize and build technical capacity of community level work force team to support implementation and successfully implement project activities as per approved plans.
  • Monitoring, learning, reporting, and documentation: Monitor progress, ensure adherence and evaluate first line performance of the project. Prepare periodic reports, financial reports and records on project activities on a timely basis. Receive monthly reports from Field officers and community facilitators, review and refine before sharing. collate lessons learnt, success factors for knowledge development and facilitate dissemination as necessary, including providing regular content to the communication unit for the development of materials.
  • Networking and resource mobilization : Maintain effective interface with government authorities, and partners as well as broader network of stakeholders at implementation level. Contribute to the development of proposals, project concepts and communication materials for visibility and fundraising . Represent the organization in meetings and networks at project level and as assigned.
  • Human Resource Management: Supervise field staff and community volunteers by articulating performance and behavioral expectations, displaying model behavior, maintaining open lines of communication and being clear about roles and relationships. Organize meetings on a regular basis with designated field staff and community facilitators to foster positive relationships. Support field staff and community facilitators in formulating performance objectives and indicators and conducts performance reviews

Educational Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in development studies, social sciences, community development, public health, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 7 years’ professional experience in violence prevention and response across all settings (home, school, communities),child protection programming, parenting and education programming.

Experience Requirement

  • Demonstrated understanding of government policies, structures and systems around violence, education, social development and health
  • Relevant community development, engagement and mobilization skills
  • Excellent training, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of community and government and nongovernment stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience of working with and training frontline workers and families
  • Solid understanding on planning, budgeting, and project reporting
  • Good administrative, organizational and time management skills with the ability to produce results as per deadlines.
