Food Preparation and Cooking

  • Assist in planning and executing daily meal preparations.
  • Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, measuring, and storing as required.
  • Support senior chefs in cooking, plating, and presentation of dishes.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes, portion standards, and quality guidelines.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of meals.

Kitchen Operations

  • Ensure proper setup of workstations before food preparation begins.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies and ingredients.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of food items to avoid spoilage.

Hygiene and Food Safety

  • Adhere strictly to food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all kitchen operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of utensils, equipment, and preparation areas.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling and storing food safely.

Team Support

  • Work closely with senior chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Assist in managing workload during peak service periods.
  • Take instructions from chefs and execute tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative kitchen environment.

General Duties

  • Assist in monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
  • Participate in kitchen cleaning schedules and deep cleaning activities.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Chef or management.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts, Food Production, or a related field.
  • Over 3 years of experience working as a Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
  • Experience in hotel, lodge, or high-volume kitchen environments is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
  • Ability to plan and execute daily meal preparations.
  • Good culinary skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
