Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation and Cooking
- Assist in planning and executing daily meal preparations.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, measuring, and storing as required.
- Support senior chefs in cooking, plating, and presentation of dishes.
- Ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes, portion standards, and quality guidelines.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of meals.
Kitchen Operations
- Ensure proper setup of workstations before food preparation begins.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies and ingredients.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of food items to avoid spoilage.
Hygiene and Food Safety
- Adhere strictly to food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of utensils, equipment, and preparation areas.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and storing food safely.
Team Support
- Work closely with senior chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Assist in managing workload during peak service periods.
- Take instructions from chefs and execute tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Contribute to a positive and cooperative kitchen environment.
General Duties
- Assist in monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Participate in kitchen cleaning schedules and deep cleaning activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Chef or management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts, Food Production, or a related field.
- Over 3 years of experience working as a Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
- Experience in hotel, lodge, or high-volume kitchen environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
- Ability to plan and execute daily meal preparations.
- Good culinary skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
