Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Craft Certificate (KNQF LEVEL 5) in relevant respective fields of study from a recognized Qualifications Awarding Institution (QAI); and
- Relevant Practical experience
Key Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include: –
- Undertaking practical/theoretical training in areas of specialization in accordance with the occupational standards and curriculum;
- Preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
- Setting and marking examination/assignment;
- Carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and
- Supervising trainees’ projects and practical work.
- Any other relevant assigned duties.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following competencies and attributes:
- Hands-on practical experience
- Strong practical and theoretical mastery in relevant fields with up-to-date industry knowledge on emerging technologies.
- Problem Solving and Innovation
- Open-mindedness and ability to apply analytical thinking and innovation to solve emerging challenges.
- Commitment to Youth Development in the North.
- Demonstrated passion for skills development, mentorship, and empowerment of trainees for employability and entrepreneurship.
- UMTI specialises in delivering mobile vocational training. Interested applicants must be willing to work in remote environments and with vulnerable communities with high levels of illiteracy.
