Overview
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in software testing, with a significant emphasis on both manual and automated testing.
- Expertise in testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber) and proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, or JavaScript) for automation scripting.
- Strong understanding of Quality Assurance processes, methodologies, and best practices, with a proven track record of leading QA initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Test Planning and Strategy: The Senior Software Engineer will spearhead the creation of comprehensive test plans and strategies, ensuring alignment with software requirements and risk assessments.
- Manual Testing: This role includes executing complex manual test cases to validate software functionality and conducting exploratory testing to identify potential defects and usability issues.
- Automation Testing: A significant portion of the responsibilities will involve architecting and implementing automated test scripts, enhancing existing frameworks, and integrating these tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance.
- Defect Management: The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with development teams to analyze and troubleshoot defects, ensuring swift resolution and effective communication of outcomes to stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance Leadership: This role will involve championing best practices in QA methodologies and participating in code reviews to provide constructive feedback from a quality assurance perspective.
- Mentorship and Development: Mentoring junior QA team members is a critical responsibility, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth within the team.
- Continuous Improvement: The Senior Software Engineer will identify areas for process improvement within the QA lifecycle and stay informed about industry trends and innovations in testing practices.
- Documentation: Maintaining thorough documentation for testing processes, including test plans, defect reports, and contributing to user manuals and quality assurance reports is essential.
- Collaboration and Communication: This role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on quality expectations and clear communication of testing progress and results.
