Radio Frequency Engineer Job Pavicon

Pavicon Kenya Limited, a trusted leader in telecommunications infrastructure, is seeking a highly skilled and proactive RF Engineer to support our growing portfolio of telecom projects across Kenya.
This position requires a hands-on professional with deep technical knowledge in RF engineering and base station systems (2G/3G/4G/5G), with the ability to lead end-to-end planning, deployment, and optimization of radio and power infrastructure. Experience with multi-vendor environments (Huawei, Ericsson, ZTE, Nokia) is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Scheduling:

• Develop detailed RF rollout plans based on project scopes and technical drawings. Ensure timelines are met through daily, weekly, and monthly execution schedules.
• BTS & RF Infrastructure Implementation:
• Oversee site surveys, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning of BTS units, antenna systems, and auxiliary electrical components including solar backups and power units.

Material & Inventory Management:

• Forecast and requisition RF and electrical materials. Conduct quality checks upon delivery and ensure inventory is tracked and safeguarded on site.
• Field Supervision & Team Coordination:
• Lead field teams, assigning tasks and conducting safety briefings. Monitor productivity, quality of workmanship, and compliance with technical standards.

RF Testing, Troubleshooting & Optimization:

Perform BTS Testing, and commissioning in consultation with the Vendors

Perform Tx Testing, and commissioning in consultation with the Vendors

• Execute drive tests and network performance analysis using TEMS, Nemo, or Genex. Resolve site faults and recommend improvements based on KPIs and signal performance.

Environmental Health & Safety Compliance:

• Perform E2E Onsite EHS Compliance which includes the following: Enforce EHS protocols, lead daily toolbox talks, identify hazards, and implement preventive safety measures. Ensure use of PPE and respond to incidents swiftly.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Prepare commissioning reports, RF performance reports, and system integration documentation. Maintain accurate site records and client-ready handover files.
• Client Interface & Project Handover:
• Participate in joint site inspections, address punch list items, and ensure final acceptance documentation, compliance certificates, and warranties are submitted.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree or Diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
• Vendor Certification for MW training
• Vendor Training for BTS equipment [NOKIA, Ericsson, ZTE, Huawei]
• OEM Training for Power Euipments
• 4–6 years of experience in telecom RF and electrical works, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Familiarity with BTS, hybrid solar systems, and RF components from leading vendors.
• Proficiency in RF testing tools, drive testing, and OSS platforms.
• Valid driver’s license and availability for regular travel to project sites.

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

• Valid EPRA Electrical Certification (C2 or Higher). [Not Mandatory]
• Valid EPRA Solar Certification (and above). [Not Mandatory]
• Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, or ZTE RAN/BTS Certifications
• RF Safety / EMF Compliance / Tower Climbing Training
• TEMS / Atoll / Genex Probe Certification
