Job Summary/Objective:
The Modern Trade Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring the effective placement, promotion, and availability of Steam Energy Drink products across modern trade outlets in the Mombasa region. This role focuses on enhancing product visibility, maintaining compliance with merchandising standards, and driving sales growth through strategic execution of marketing initiatives and collaboration with retail partners.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensure Steam Energy Drink products are displayed neatly, cleanly, and are easily accessible to shoppers.
- Maintain optimal shelf share that aligns with the product’s market value.
- Monitor and ensure SKU availability across all retail locations.
- Implement promotional activities and offers within modern trade outlets
- Ensure compliance with established planograms for effective product visibility.
- Adhere to all Joint Business Plan (JBP) metrics and guidelines.
- Actively seek new outlet opportunities to expand product availability.
- Monitor adherence to recommended retail prices across all outlets.
- Conduct a specified number of store visits daily.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure communication using effective point-of-sale materials.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Key Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Previous experience in merchandising, retail sales, or the beverage industry is preferred (1-2 years is an advantage).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with retailers and customers.
