St. Crispin Afya Hospital is a licensed Level 3B private health facility in Kajiado committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. As we gear up for our Level 4 transition, we are looking to fill the following position: Medical Officer-1

Job Summary

The Medical Officer at St. Crispin Afya Hospital will be responsible for delivering quality patient care, managing both outpatient and inpatient cases, and supporting preventive and promotive health programs. The officer will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive timely and effective treatment in line with hospital standards and Kenyan medical regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings.
• Provide timely medical interventions, including prescribing medication, ordering diagnostic tests, and performing minor procedures.
• Offer emergency care and stabilize patients before referral if required.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in line with Ministry of Health (MoH) and hospital standards.
• Refer complex cases to specialists or higher-level facilities as appropriate.
• Support health education and preventive care initiatives within the hospital and community.
• Participate in ward rounds, clinical audits, and case reviews.
• Ensure compliance with professional ethics, MoH guidelines, and the hospital’s policies.
• Supervise, mentor, and provide clinical guidance to interns, clinical officers, and nurses where applicable.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and safe clinical practice within the hospital.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from a recognized university.
• Valid registration and current practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
• 1–3 years of post-internship clinical experience, preferably in a busy hospital setup.
• Strong diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and handle pressure in fast-paced environments.
• Commitment to medical ethics, confidentiality, and continuous learning.

Work Conditions

• Based at St. Crispin Afya Hospital, with rotations across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency departments.
• May involve working shifts, weekends, nights, and being on-call.
