Customer Service Representative – Freight Forwarding Nairobi, Kenya
Our client, a growing freight forwarding and logistics startup, is looking for a Customer Service Representative to support clients, respond to enquiries, and ensure customers receive timely updates throughout the service process.
The ideal candidate should be proactive, well-organized, and comfortable working in a growing environment where flexibility and initiative are important.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer enquiries through phone, email, WhatsApp, and other communication channels.
- Provide customers with updates on their shipments and service requests.
- Follow up on customer enquiries and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
- Liaise with the internal team to obtain shipment and clearance updates.
- Communicate shipment progress and any delays to customers.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate where necessary.
- Prepare and share quotations and other customer-related documents.
- Maintain accurate customer and shipment records.
- Follow up with prospective clients and enquiries.
- Build and maintain good relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Support other day-to-day activities as required in a growing startup environment.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Customer Service, Logistics, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous customer service experience, preferably in freight forwarding, clearing and forwarding, logistics, or a related industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good follow-up and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Customer-focused, proactive, and willing to learn.
