Requirements for appointment
- Diploma in any of the following fields:- Applied Sciences (Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biology), Food Science and Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution;
- Possess a current valid practicing certificate;
- Membership of a relevant professional body;
Duties and responsibilities:-
- Carry out chemical/microbiological analysis on samples;
- Receive, document and analyze specimens for pathology and carry out appropriate testing;
- Clean and sterilize laboratory glassware, surfaces and equipment;
- Dispose laboratory waste; and
- Extract, isolate and identify drugs, pesticides and heavy metals from biological and miscellaneous samples.
