The Africa Minigrid Developers Association (AMDA) is seeking an Access to Capital Intern to support their organization in enhancing the capital raising capabilities of
minigrid developers and facilitate dialogue with funders and investors to attract deeper pools of capital in the minigrid sector. The Access to Capital Intern role will
be based in Nairobi.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify funding opportunities for minigrids
- Support in identifying and establishing strong relationships with private minigrid investors, development partners, and financial institutions
- Support in organizing finance workshops aimed at broadening members’ knowledge and understanding of minigrid financing
- Support in conducting data collection, analysis, and presentation
- Assist in advocating for favorable economic and financial policies in the minigrid sector.
- Support in drafting articles and position papers advocating for investment in the minigrid sector.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a business-related field
- Strong data analytical, financial modeling, and market research skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency with advanced Excel and other analysis software
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in French or Portuguese is an added advantage
