Job Description

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  • Implementing human resource management decisions within existing rules, regulations and procedures;
  • Processing information relating to recruitment, promotion, leave, transfer and exit documents;
  • Updating payroll and complement data;
  • Maintaining accurate record of expiry of contracts, probationary periods, acting appointments and submitting reports for decision making;
  • Collating and compiling training applications;
  • Collating staff performance appraisals;
  • Updating the Human Resource Information System;
  • Compiling agenda and minutes for Human Resource Advisory Committee; and
  • Drafting routine correspondences.

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –

  • Cumulative service period of three (3) years relevant work experience in the grade of Human Resource Management & Development Officer II, or in a comparable position;
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.

OR

  • Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Sociology,
  • Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management/Development or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
  • Certificate in computer application skills; and Shown merit, integrity and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Terms of Service

The successful candidate will be on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service. The Minimum basic salary for this position will range from Kshs. 49, 329 – Kshs. 68,909/= per month exclusive of allowances.
