Job Summary

The Human Resource Assistant will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date employee records, supporting HR operations, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.

  • Ensure proper filing, confidentiality, and retrieval of HR documents.
  • Assist in preparing reports for headcount, turnover, and other HR metrics.
  • Track employee attendance and leave records; compile monthly reports.
  • Support the HR Manager in managing absenteeism and time-off requests.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
  • Follow up on return-to-work forms, sick leave documentation, and annual leave approvals.
  • Support the HR Manager in resolving staff concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with coordinating employee welfare and recognition programs.
  • Collect and verify payroll-related data such as attendance, overtime, and deductions.
  • Support statutory compliance (e.g., PAYE, NSSF, NHIF).
  • Ensure HR practices align with Kenyan labor law and hotel HR policy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • At least 2 years’ HR experience, preferably in hospitality.
  • Good knowledge of Kenyan labor laws.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems.
