Our client is a continental leadership, training, consultancy and digital solutions institution working with professionals and organisations across Africa. They are looking to hire a Business Development Executives will support the growth of Vantage Africa by identifying business opportunities, engaging potential clients, following up leads, preparing proposals and converting prospects into confirmed trainings, consultancies, digital solution engagements and partnerships.
The role requires highly motivated professionals who are comfortable with targets, client communication, proposal writing, institutional follow-up and relationship management. Successful candidates will work closely with management, trainers, consultants, marketing teams and digital solutions teams to package strong client solutions and grow revenue across assigned areas.
Key Responsibilities
The Business Development Executives will be responsible for:
- Supporting the growth of assigned Strategic Business Units.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in training, consultancy, digital solutions and professional development programmes.
- Engaging corporate, government, NGO, donor, development, university and institutional clients.
- Following up leads from marketing campaigns, referrals, alumni networks, webinars, databases, events and institutional contacts.
- Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospects, proposals, follow-ups and client opportunities.
- Preparing professional emails, proposals, concept notes, capability statements and client presentations.
- Supporting the conversion of potential opportunities into confirmed trainings, consultancy assignments, digital solution engagements and partnerships.
- Managing client communication and maintaining professional relationships with current and potential clients.
- Conducting market research to identify institutions, sectors, countries and programmes with strong business potential.
- Supporting country-specific and sector-specific business development initiatives.
- Coordinating with trainers, consultants and technical teams to package relevant solutions for clients.
- Tracking leads, follow-ups, proposals submitted, conversions, revenue and client engagement activities.
- Representing Vantage Africa professionally in calls, meetings, presentations and business discussions.
- Supporting repeat business by maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
- Providing regular business development updates on assigned markets, opportunities and revenue progress.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- At least 2 years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, client engagement, proposal development, partnerships or institutional communication.
- Strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to prepare professional proposals, concept notes, emails and client presentations.
- Confidence in engaging clients through calls, emails, meetings and presentations.
- Ability to follow up consistently and manage multiple opportunities at the same time.
- Strong interest in training, consultancy, leadership development, digital solutions or professional services.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace and online communication tools.
- Experience in training, consultancy, NGO, development, corporate services, digital solutions or professional services sectors will be an added advantage.
