Position overview
The Branch Manager – Nairobi is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management of transport and workshop perations for a fleet of 40+ trucks. This role requires a leader who can balance operational efficiency, revenue rowth, customer satisfaction, and cost control. The manager will coordinate interdepartmental functions, oversee taff and administrative tasks, ensure regulatory compliance, and champion continuous improvement to drive overall
branch performance
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage overall branch operations, including fleet logistics, workshop coordination, and ICD port activities.
- Oversee daily dispatch, routing, cargo documentation, and clearance at ICD and other terminals.
- Maximize cargo/container collection to reduce yard congestion and optimize yard utilization.
- Responsible for driving and expanding commercial sales at the Nairobi branch
- Support sales, marketing, and customer satisfaction (OTIF) through technology and service excellence to drive rofitability, cost control, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with the workshop team on fleet servicing, repairs, and implement preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Manage yard operations, infrastructure, personnel, and oversee admin, security, and local compliance.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance, revenue, and expenses to management.
- Liaise with port agents, clearing teams, and departmental heads to build strong interdepartmental and external relationships.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, port authority rules, HSE standards, and company policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Degree in Transport Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transport/logistics, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- Practical experience with ICD/port operations and documentation is a must.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs, monitor KPIs, and support business targets.
- Familiar with fleet management systems and basic IT tools (MS Office Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance nd workshop operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, enforce discipline, and deliver results under pressure.
- Good command of English and Kiswahili.
