If you are at the Kenya School of Law or have recently completed the Advocate Training Program, and you are looking for placement, this role might be for you.

  • Conduct legal research across multiple practice areas and prepare clear, well-reasoned memoranda for supervising advocates
  • Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, opinions, formal correspondence, and review documents drafted by others
  • Support matter and deal coordination, including tracking documents, monitoring progress, and ensuring things move on schedule
  • Attend and prepare for client meetings, court sessions, hearings, and negotiations; maintain accurate notes and complete file records
  • Assist in preparing trial bundles, court filings, and litigation support materials
  • Apply compliance and risk awareness across all matters, spotting red flags in contracts, policies, and transactions, regardless of practice area
  • Prepare legal knowledge updates and case summaries to support the team’s ongoing learning
  • Support preparation of proposals, presentations, and business development materials
  • Manage case files and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail, confidentiality, and chain of custody
  • Engage with clients professionally and represent the firm well in every interaction
  • Any other duties assigned.
  • LL.B from a recognised university
  • Current KSL ATP candidate or recent graduate
  • Strong legal research and drafting ability
  • Commercial awareness – you think beyond the legal principles
  • Good written and spoken English; Kiswahili is a plus
  • High standards of integrity and professionalism: genuinely non-negotiable
