Our client in the healthcare sector is seeking to recruit a competent and dedicated
Locum Nurse to provide high-quality patient care on a temporary basis. The successful
candidate will be responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing care, collaborating
with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring patients receive the appropriate clinical
support in accordance with established healthcare standards and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans for
- patients in assigned wards or units.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and in a timely
- manner in accordance with hospital policies.
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, clinical observations, and any changes in
- condition, escalating concerns appropriately.
- Assist doctors and other healthcare professionals during clinical procedures,
- examinations, and ward rounds.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, nursing notes, and
- documentation in compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control measures to maintain a safe clinical
- environment for patients and staff.
- Respond promptly and competently to emergency situations, administering first
- aid and life-saving interventions as required.
- Uphold patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times in accordance with
- nursing ethics and hospital policy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya with a valid practicing
- license.
- Minimum 2 years’ post-registration clinical nursing experience in a hospital or
- healthcare setting.
- Experience in general medical/surgical nursing; additional competencies in ICU,
- theatre, or emergency nursing will be an added advantage.
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient management skills.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to patient safety and
- quality care.
