About the Role
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. This role is crucial for managing the financial operations within our dynamic logistics company, with a particular focus on air export and import activities and IATA-related transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Process and reconcile IATA billing and settlement plans (BSP/CASS) for air freight shipments.
- Ensure accurate recording of export/import revenue, costs, and accruals specific to air cargo operations.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses related to logistics operations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Liaise with operational teams to ensure accurate financial documentation for shipments.
- Handle customs duty and tax related entries and reconciliations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Proven experience working within a logistics or freight forwarding company.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with IATA billing and settlement procedures for air cargo.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Nice to Have
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Experience with specific logistics ERP systems.
- Knowledge of other freight modes (ocean, road).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
