Aga Khan Foundation is recruiting Enumerators for the STRIDES Baseline Study in Kilifi. This is a full-time position based in Kilifi County, running from May through June 2026. The role involves administering household surveys and collecting qualitative data to support a health research initiative in the region. Enumerators will work under supervision to gather accurate, ethically-sound data from selected communities.

  • Participate fully in all training sessions and tool piloting activities prior to the start of fieldwork to ensure competency in data collection protocols.
  • Administer household surveys using mobile devices and contribute to qualitative data collection through focus group discussions and key informant interviews, all under supervision.
  • Secure informed consent from all participants, protect respondent confidentiality, and follow Aga Khan Foundation’s safeguarding and ethical research standards without exception.
  • Plan fieldwork each day by identifying target villages and survey sites, ensuring all assigned locations are visited and sampled within the daily schedule.
  • Record survey responses accurately on digital platforms, complete fieldwork logs daily, and report any operational challenges or issues encountered in the field immediately.
  • Handle all project equipment responsibly, maintain proper equipment condition throughout fieldwork, and return all materials on the completion date.
  • Contribute feedback on the usability of data collection tools and share observations about field-level challenges to support quality improvements.
  • Minimum diploma qualification in social sciences, public health, statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience conducting fieldwork for surveys or research studies, particularly on gender, health, or sexual and reproductive health topics in Kilifi County.
  • Working knowledge of digital data collection platforms such as ODK (Open Data Kit) or KoboToolbox.
  • Fluent in both English and Kiswahili; ability to speak local dialects is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and demonstrated cultural sensitivity when engaging with diverse community members.
  • Clear commitment to ethical research principles and safeguarding practices.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct.
