Job Summary

The Community Outreach Clerk is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing outreach eye camps in collaboration with internal teams, sponsors, and community stakeholders. The role involves field and office-based work, including patient mobilization, registration, coordination of logistics, and follow-up processes. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively with diverse and vulnerable populations.

  • Plan and coordinate outreach eye camps, including identifying sponsors, scheduling camp dates, and liaising with the outreach team.
  • Organize camp logistics such as venue arrangements, transportation for staff and patients, and catering where required.
  • Mobilize communities by engaging local leaders, stakeholders, and residents to promote outreach activities and services.
  • Register patients accurately, maintain proper documentation, and ensure smooth patient flow during outreach camps.
  • Coordinate transportation and referral of patients from outreach sites to the hospital for further treatment or surgery.
  • Act as a liaison between outreach sites and the hospital to communicate patient numbers, surgical needs, and follow-up schedules.
  • Support patient care coordination including discharge planning and follow-up visits in collaboration with hospital staff.
  • Maintain accurate records, case notes, and reports on outreach activities, patient data, and outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports on outreach camp performance and key statistics.
  • Promote health education, awareness initiatives, and community-based programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support administrative tasks including data entry, documentation, and general office coordination.
  • Assist in organizing community events, workshops, and engagement activities.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, patient confidentiality, and operational standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Health, Communications, or a related field from a known organisation (required).
  • Experience in community outreach, fieldwork, or working with NGOs or community-based organizations (required).
  • Experience in healthcare outreach programs or patient coordination (preferred).
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including low-income communities or refugee populations (preferred).
