Responsibilities

• Receive payments made via cash, card, or mobile money from customers.
• Issue VAT receipts using the ETR machine for all eligible transactions.
• Issue refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
• Greet customers entering establishments.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
• Resolve customer complaints.
• Answer customers’ questions, and provide information on procedures or policies.
• Cash checks for customers.
• Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales.
• Compute and record totals of transactions.
• Keep periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions.
• Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they have adequate cash available
• Any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be based in Mombasa
• Certificate or Diploma in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
• Previous experience in cashiering will be an added advantage.
• Strong numerical and cash-handling skills.
• High level of honesty, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle cash accurately and maintain proper records.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with POS systems and ETR machines.
