Research Assistants- Nakuru NGO Job

The RAs will receive ad-hoc three (3) days training in Naivasha (Nakuru County), take part in inception meeting, the pilot testing of the data collection tools and will conduct the data collection in the respective project locations.

The study will apply a quantitative approach including pre-identified community participants including children aged 13 and above, men and women using structured interview questionnaires on ‘kobo collect’.

The main tasks of the RAs will include:

  • Fully participate in the RAs training on the survey
  • Conducting community quantitative data collection and KIIs with relevant stakeholders and approved research protocols as per CISP Kenya SOPs
  • Report comprehensive findings through digitized forms

Payment

The Research Assistant (RA) will be paid a daily stipend based on approved completed interviews, which will be paid after completing all the assigned tasks.

Transport and accommodation

  • CISP and K-NOTE will provide transport for the recruited RAs to the training and during fieldwork within Nakuru sub-County. Accommodation and meals will be provided when and where needed including during the training.
  • At least a diploma in social studies, health, or development studies
  • Experience in quantitative data collection and in research activities involving communities
  • Experience in data collection using mobile-based applications
  • Interest and ability to work with different stakeholders (community members, children, civil society, government officials, etc.)
  • Available during the month of August and September (exact timeline to be confirmed)
  • Must be from the target sub-county (Naivasha and Gilgil Sub-County)
  • Proficient user of the Microsoft Office package
  • Good communication skills in English, Swahili and the local language in the target sub-counties
  • Able to work independently and in a team
