Educational Qualifications:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • A professional certification in sales or marketing is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 3 years in Modern Trade (Key Accounts).
  • Proven track record of growing volumes, achieving revenue targets, and managing large retail chains like Carrefour, Quickmart, Naivas, Chandarana, etc.
  • Experience in FMCG or Beverage sector.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with retail buyers and category managers.
  • Expertise in route-to-market strategies, listing procedures, trade terms negotiation, and visibility planning.
  • Deep understanding of Modern Trade operations, including shelf space management, planograms, stock rotations, and promotions.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret sell-in vs. sell-out data and drive decisions.
  • Competence in trade marketing and category development.
  • Leadership skills to coach, mentor, and lead sales teams or merchandisers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), and sales reporting tools (ERP/CRM).

Personal Attributes:

  • Self-driven, result-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with logistics, marketing, and production teams.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driving license and be willing to travel across regions.
  • Solid network and contacts within the Retail and distribution Channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to open new Modern Trade accounts and improve penetration per outlet across assigned regions.
