Our client is a manufacturer of high-quality aluminium utensils based in Tanzania. The company is dedicated to producing durable, affordable, and innovative household products. They are seeking a hands-on and experienced Production Manager to oversee the entire manufacturing process and ensure operational efficiency, quality control, and timely delivery of products.

The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the manufacturing processes to ensure optimal production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a proactive leader with strong technical knowledge of aluminium production and a keen ability to manage people, machines, and materials effectively.

  • Plan, organize, and oversee the daily production activities to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement production schedules and resource allocation plans.
  • Ensure efficient use of raw materials, equipment, and labor to minimize waste and downtime.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules or workflows as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Supervise and lead production staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain and improve product standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment in collaboration with the maintenance department.
  • Prepare and analyze production reports, highlighting variances and improvement opportunities.
  • Liaise with procurement, inventory, and logistics teams to ensure smooth flow of materials and finished goods.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setup, preferably in metal or aluminium products production.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, process optimization, and quality control.
  • Experience in managing large production teams and meeting output targets.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and compliance regulations in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and production management software.
