The Product Manager – Insurance is responsible for formulating and executing Airtel Money’s insurance and related product strategy across diverse verticals. The role aims to drive financial inclusion and support the health, security, and financial stability agenda for Airtel Money customers and businesses. This will be achieved through extensive market research, global trend analysis, and customer insights, ensuring Airtel Money develops a strong footprint in the insurance sector.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive Insurance Product with the Airtel Money overall goals.

  • Develop and implement Airtel Money’s Insurance strategy
  • Develop and launch Airtel Money flagship insurance product propositions
  • Conceptualize new strategic initiatives around the insurance Industry.
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and squads to structure and execute business initiatives, lead analysis and develop and communicate final recommendations that impact the customers insurance needs
  • Engage with key influencers and decision makers across different teams to accomplish the financial services goals.
  • Lead a cross-organizational team in finding solutions that are fit and sound for the market.
  • Collaborate with new and existing partners to develop new ideas based on your industry experience.
  • Champion the adoption of best practices and procedures for the changing trends and technologies in financial services.
  • Coordinate the management of ongoing insurance products and insurance partners.
  • Identify strategic partnership areas with Insurance companies.
  • Increasing the profitability of existing Insurance products.
  • Define compelling go-to-market strategy for insurance product that position them competitively in the market and support the relevant teams in the execution.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to manage the entire life cycle of the Insurance products.
  • Suggest and develop processes and services to improve current insurance products.
  • Help organize and lead critical planning meetings, status updates, business reviews and other communications.
  • Be an expert in customer trends, stay informed of data-driven marketing news, emerging technologies and competitor offerings.

Drive the development and enhancement of Insurance infrastructure.

  • Optimize insurance products for user experience, security, and efficiency.
  • To design, develop and implement secure business functions on insurance products.
  • Providing support and advice to IT Development and Support teams regarding Insurance applications.
  • Ensuring uniform and cohesive monitoring applied across the relevant infrastructures.
  • Managing internal projects and providing reporting to the management team.
  • Responsible for a delivery team with wide range of experience, expertise, and technology knowledge.
  • Ensure availability of Insurance products across all channels such as the Merchant/consumer App, USSD, Enterprise portal, Open APIs, and others across all the 14 markets
  • Support to define use cases for the OPCOs, product design and product requirements for customization to meet specific insurance customer and merchant needs and liaise with the technical team to ensure correct implementation.
  • Provide market feedback to Airtel leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas.
  • Work with the OPCO teams to develop the relevant path to launch and scale (products & service, distribution, business processes, contracts, compliance).
  • Work closely with marketing to identify appropriate go to market messaging for specific consumer sectors.
  • Work together with business analysts and technical architects to design, configure and deliver the Airtel Money systems, products and services to meet customers’ requirements and deadlines
