Our client, a manufacturer and seller of motorcycles is looking to hire a Procurement Officer is primarily responsible for the purchases and inventory control. Under the Supervision of the Finance Manager, the Procurement Officer has the responsibility for the management of the daily procurement activities in the organization from the request to the delivery of goods, works and services.

  • Identifying potential suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
  • Develop sourcing strategies
  • Negotiating contracts and purchase terms with suppliers to secure favorable prices and conditions.
  • Managing and overseeing contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure ongoing service and support.
  • Payment terms negotiation, optimization and management
  • Set and plan how to achieve supplier accreditation and service level management
  • Raising purchase orders, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery.
  • Developing and managing procurement budgets, analysing cost trends, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks related to procurement, such as supply chain disruptions.
  • Coordinating with logistics and warehousing to ensure efficient inventory management and timely delivery of goods.
  • Review inventory and update as required
  • Receive, inspect and distribute orders
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, regulations, and government guidelines including e-tims etc.
  • Evaluating supplier performance and recommending improvements.
  • Maintaining accurate records of purchases, invoices, and other procurement-related documents.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in procurement and logistics
  • Experience as a Procurement Officer, or similar role for more than 5 years
  • Computer literacy qualification is essential. Proven ability to utilize and develop computerized spreadsheets and word processing applications
  • Procurement/accounting Software and Asset Software experience is an added advantage
  • Procurement certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Mature, empathetic and professional
  • Independent self-starter with attention to detail
  • Possesses integrity and ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
  • Able to collaborate with and motivate others
  • Amicable
  • Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines
