Specific duties and responsibilities
- To plan, organize and direct all repair and maintenance operations with emphasis on preventive maintenance
- To implement repair and maintenance strategies and action plans to ensure timely production support
- To ensure attainment of business objectives and repair and maintenance scheduling to ensure optimal plant operations
- To optimize human resource utilization within the department
- To establish individual and group accountabilities throughout the department for assigned tasks
- To keep up to date with and implement new repair and maintenance concepts and procedures
- To optimize occupational safety and health with the department
- To identify and highlight to management departmental training needs, staff motivation and discipline
- Cost cutting measures
- Project management
Requirements
Qualifications
- Relevant university degree
- At least 5 years proven practical experience in a similar position in a manufacturing organization
- Proven skills in the use of computers as a working and reporting tool
- Certification for relevant seminars/workshops attended is an added advantage
- An effective team leader with stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated proactive approach to problem solving with strong decision-making capabilities
- Excellent understanding of the full repair and maintenance and project management mix
- High level of integrity
- Strong communication skills.
- A willing team player
- Effective reporting
