Job Summary
Medprime Training College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Tutor to join our academic team. The Nurse Tutor will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing education, mentoring students, and supporting their academic and clinical development.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Instruction:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in accordance with the nursing curriculum.
- Use innovative teaching methods, including simulations, demonstrations, and case studies, to enhance learning.
Curriculum Development:
- Participate in the review and development of nursing curricula to ensure it meets regulatory and industry standards.
- Incorporate the latest evidence-based practices and trends in nursing education.
Clinical Supervision:
- Oversee students during clinical placements, ensuring they gain hands-on experience in line with course objectives.
- Provide guidance and feedback to students during practical sessions.
Student Support and Mentorship:
- Mentor and advise students on academic, personal, and professional development matters.
- Identify and address students’ learning needs to ensure their success.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Prepare and administer tests, assignments, and exams to evaluate students’ progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide constructive feedback.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all teaching activities comply with nursing council regulations and standards.
- Prepare documentation required for audits, inspections, and accreditation.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on advancements in nursing and education through continuous professional development.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BNSc) or a Diploma in Nursing with a Teaching Certificate. A Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field is an added advantage.
- Licensure: Current licensure with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
- Experience: At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
- Prior experience in teaching or training in a healthcare or academic setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and ethics.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
- Proficiency in using technology for teaching and administrative tasks.
