The Assistant Warehouse Manager will play a critical role in supporting the National Warehouse Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned warehouses. This role demands a hands-on, proactive individual capable of leading a team, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring safety and accuracy within the warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Staff Supervision and Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff.
- Assign tasks based on operational priorities and monitor team performance.
- Offer guidance and constructive feedback to support team development and efficiency.
Inventory Management
- Maintain precise inventory records using digital and physical tracking systems.
- Conduct routine inventory audits to identify stock discrepancies and take corrective action.
- Ensure that stock levels are accurate and within required thresholds.
Inbound Logistics Oversight
- Manage the reception, inspection, and storage of incoming goods.
- Ensure that all incoming shipments are recorded properly and stored in the correct warehouse sections.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to reconcile deliveries against purchase orders.
Outbound Logistics Coordination
- Oversee the picking, packing, and loading of goods for outbound deliveries.
- Ensure accurate and timely dispatch of products to customers.
- Monitor delivery schedules and liaise with transport teams to avoid delays.
Safety Compliance and Risk Management
- Implement safety protocols and enforce compliance among warehouse staff.
- Monitor equipment and workplace conditions to ensure a safe and hazard-free environment.
- Conduct safety drills and ensure all employees are trained in emergency procedures.
Warehouse Optimization and Space Utilization
- Review and redesign warehouse layouts to improve workflow and storage efficiency.
- Maximize use of storage facilities and minimize idle space.
- Work with logistics engineers to implement systems that streamline operations.
Staff Training and Development
- Train warehouse staff on proper handling procedures, inventory systems, and safety standards.
- Foster a team-oriented work environment that encourages growth and accountability.
- Evaluate training outcomes and adjust programs as needed.
Performance Monitoring and Process Improvement
- Analyze key performance indicators such as order accuracy, stock turnover, and on-time dispatch.
- Develop action plans to improve areas of weakness and recognize outstanding performance.
- Lead initiatives aimed at reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
Interdepartmental Collaboration
- Liaise with procurement, customer service, and production teams to align warehousing efforts with business goals.
- Resolve any logistical bottlenecks affecting product availability or delivery schedules.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute insights into improving overall supply chain efficiency.
Equipment Maintenance and Resource Management
- Oversee the maintenance schedule for warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallets, and security systems.
- Ensure all operational tools are in working condition and replaced or repaired when necessary.
- Track usage of resources and ensure cost-effective operations.
Reporting and Documentation
- Generate detailed reports on warehouse activities, stock movements, and operational performance.
- Maintain documentation for audits and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Use warehouse management software for accurate and timely reporting.
Academic and Professional Requirements:
- Diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of hands-on experience in warehouse operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong understanding of inventory systems, warehouse safety procedures, and team management.
