HR Officer Job

We are looking to recruit for HR Officer on behalf of our client in manufacturing company located along Ruiru.

Recruitment & On boarding

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates across the group.
  • Coordinate on boarding, orientation, and induction programs for new hires.
  • Ensure timely and proper placement of field personnel to client sites.

Workforce Planning & Scheduling

  • Work with operations to ensure optimal staff allocation for service contracts and manufacturing shifts.
  • Monitor staff attendance, leave management, and time tracking.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee enquiries, concerns, grievances, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Implement staff engagement/motivations programs and monitor employee satisfaction.

Performance Management

  • Lead performance appraisals and manage KPIs across departments in coordination with various department heads.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and team leaders on performance improvement plans.
  • Support departmental heads in identifying training and development needs.

Training & Development

  • Develop and implement training programs for all staff.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain training records and evaluate program effectiveness.

Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies in line with labor laws and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, health and safety regulations, and other legal requirements.

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate HR records including contracts, payroll inputs, disciplinary actions, and leave balances.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits and statutory deductions.
  • Manage exit procedures and ensure timely clearance and documentation.

Specific requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate diploma or certification in HR or CHRP is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years’ HR experience, preferably in both manufacturing and service industries.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and HR compliance in Kenya.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to manage field and factory-based staff.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
