East African Smart Villages and Rural Mobility Limited (EASVRM) is a Kenya-based social enterprise with operations in Kisii, Nyamira, Bomet and Narok Counties. Through its Kisii Smart Community (KSC) initiative and the “Songa” e-mobility platform, EASVRM collaborates with local and international partners to drive sustainable development.

The Role

We are seeking an ERPNext Specialist to lead the customization, integration, and deployment of ERPNext across our projects. This is a high-impact role that will design workflows, connect IoT devices, enable mobile/offline access, and ensure that farmers, drivers, and hub managers can seamlessly use the platform.

Responsibilities

• Configure ERPNext modules for fleet, assets, inventory, service, HR, accounts, and manufacturing.
• Build real-time IoT integrations (eTrike telemetry, battery sensors, GPS).
• Enable hub operations workflows (aggregation, cold chain tracking, cash/in-kind transactions).
• Integrate mobile money (M-Pesa) and automate payments to farmers, suppliers, and staff.
• Develop dashboards & KPIs for managers (vehicle utilization, aggregation rates, spoilage, cashflows).
• Support mobile-first & offline-ready deployments for field agents.
• Provide training and user support for teams with varying levels of digital literacy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with ERPNext / Frappe Framework (including module customization, workflow automation, and database management).
• Proven track record of ERP implementation in logistics, mobility, agriculture, or utility operations.
• Demonstrated experience integrating IoT/telemetry data (e.g., GPS, sensors, batteries) into ERP systems.
• Experience with mobile/low-bandwidth ERP deployments (offline-first or field-ready solutions).
• Experience in training and user adoption with non-technical teams is highly desirable
• Equivalent professional experience in ERP systems customization & deployment will also be considered.
• Strong background in Python, JavaScript, APIs, and IoT data integration.
• Familiarity with mobile ERP workflows and low-bandwidth environments.
• Knowledge of financial integrations (esp. mobile money in Africa).
• Ability to train and support non-technical users in rural/field contexts.
• Nice to Have: Experience with fleet management, cold chain, or agricultural supply chains, and ERPNext deployments in Kenya/East Africa.
