Your Mission:

As our Database Administrator, you’ll play a mission-critical role in developing, maintaining, securing, and optimizing our core database infrastructure. You’ll collaborate across teams, manage high-availability environments, and ensure round-the-clock database performance in support of our banking operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure 24/7 support for mission-critical databases.
  • Develop and execute robust backup and recovery strategies.
  • Optimize database license use and support costs.
  • Manage high-availability tools like RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN.
  • Monitor and fine-tune database performance for lightning-fast query responses.
  • Build strong vendor relationships and track SLAs to deliver value.
  • Enforce change management processes and close audit issues.
  • Run patching, privilege reviews, and compliance tasks with discipline.
  • Install, configure, and maintain RDBMS platforms: Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres.
  • Lead schema design, capacity planning, and disaster recovery setups.
  • Secure data access, monitor vulnerabilities, and respond proactively.
  • Document processes, implement data standards, and drive database audits.
  • Support Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and liaise with internal teams to ensure ongoing stability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Certifications in ITIL, OCA/OCP/OCE/OCM, or similar.
  • PMP/PRINCE2 or other project management certification (preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle Engineered Systems (ODA, Exadata).
  • Hands-on experience with major RDBMS platforms (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres).
  • 5+ years of database and storage support in medium to large organizations.
  • Banking or financial services sector experience is a strong advantage.
