Cost Controller (Manufacturing) Job. Accounting Jobs in Kenya

We are seeking to recruit a Cost Controller to support our Logistics and Agricultural teams in Nairobi. This role is responsible for driving cost efficiency through comprehensive financial analysis, inventory control, budgeting, and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will ensure all financial activities are aligned with internal controls, enabling operational excellence and informed decision-making across the Agri-hub.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement effective analytical reviews of plant financial performance and propose actionable solutions.
  • Lead the preparation and monitoring of the Agri-hub’s operating budget and enforce budgetary controls.
  • Manage monthly physical inventory strategy, count, reconciliation, and reporting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Partner with operations management to provide technical assistance and financial insights into key processes.
  • Present monthly manufacturing and operational performance results to management.
  • Analyze product costing and variances for both purchased and manufactured items.
  • Collect, compile, and report financial data in a timely and accurate manner, including production-related reports.
  • Develop and enhance manufacturing financial reporting tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct periodic audits on inventories and prepare comprehensive audit findings for WIP, Finished Goods, and Raw Materials.
  • Prepare balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other key periodic financial reports.
  • Update accounts payable and receivable records, ensuring accurate and timely posting of all purchase transactions.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly documented, verified, approved, and in compliance with internal policies.
  • Execute additional finance-related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing cost accounting experience.
  • CPAK is desirable
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems specifically SAP.
  • Strong understanding of MRP (Material Resource Planning).
  • HSE basic course certification (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of profit & loss statements, cost drivers, and forecasting, with the ability to communicate findings clearly to management
