Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- ACCA qualification is highly required.
- Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role
- Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws, statutory reporting, and IFRS
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- High level of integrity and professional ethics
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax and statutory obligations, including timely filing with KRA and other authorities
- Develop and implement internal financial controls and policies to maintain integrity and transparency
- Lead and supervise junior accounting staff, including reviewing their work and supporting their development
- Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Coordinate external and internal audits and implement recommendations
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide strategic recommendations to senior management
- Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and inventory reconciliations
- Liaise with banks, suppliers, external auditors, and other stakeholders as needed
