General Purpose
Our client, a leading beauty brand with retail business operations across East Africa, seeks to hire a Category Manager (Skin Care) to be responsible for optimizing brand performance, maximizing margins, and enhancing retail execution through data-driven strategies and strong stakeholder partnerships.
Location: Nairobi – Westlands | Salary: Ksh. 110,000 – 150,000 (gross)

Duties & Responsibilities
Global Marketing Coordination:
- Secure and organize the global marketing calendar in collaboration with partner brands and distributors.
- Oversee purchase budgets to ensure optimal product assortment and pricing strategies.
Commercial & Pricing Strategy
- Monitor market trends to maintain competitive pricing and communicate adjustments effectively.
- Drive B2B portfolio growth in modern and general trade channels.
Campaign & Promotions Management:
- Lead A&P (Activations & Promotions) campaigns to achieve like-for-like growth across
- Tier 1 & 2 retail brands.
- Rationalize assortments across retail tiers (T1/T2/T3).
Retail Excellence & Visual Merchandising:
- Implement best-in-class Visual Merchandising experiences for the categories (Fragrances,
- Make Up, Skin, Inner Beauty).
- Ensure effective deployment of marketing assets and in-store collateral.
Training & Talent Development:
- Enhance product knowledge and sales capabilities through HR& Academy partnerships.
- Expand the talent pool of Beauty Consultants (BCs) via structured training programs.
- Launch a Learning Management System (LMS) and Beauty Advisor Sales Training program.
Strategic Partnerships & Business Growth:
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with brand principals to align on performance and strategy.
- Strengthen relationships with retailers, suppliers, landlords, and government stakeholders.
- Develop new categories (e.g., Inner Beauty, Services) through targeted hiring and partner management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience in marketing, commercial strategy, and retail management within the beauty/luxury/FMCG sector.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in pricing, budgeting, and assortment optimization.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation abilities.
- Background in training & development, with experience in sales enablement programs.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving retail growth and brand expansion.
