Associate Professor- Obstetrics & Gynaecology Job KU

  • PhD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or a related discipline from a recognized university
    OR
  • Master of Medicine (MMed) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with recognized subspecialty Fellowship training considered equivalent to a PhD in accordance with CUE guidelines and Senate approval
  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) with a valid practicing license
  • Minimum of 6 years of university teaching experience, including at least 3 years at the rank of Senior Lecturer or equivalent
  • Evidence of postgraduate supervision to completion, including:
    1. At least 2 PhD students and 3 Master’s students OR
    2. At least 10 Master’s students
  • Minimum of 32 publication points in peer-reviewed journals, including at least 3 publications since last promotion
  • Contribution to scholarly book chapters or academic publications
  • Evidence of successful attraction of research funding or development resources
  • Demonstrated academic leadership, mentorship, and contribution to university governance
  • Evidence of community engagement and professional service
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students
  • Supervise Master’s and PhD students
  • Conduct independent and collaborative research leading to peer-reviewed publications
  • Provide academic leadership within the department and school
  • Participate in curriculum development, program review, and academic innovation
  • Provide specialist clinical services in affiliated teaching hospitals
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university governance structures
  • Mentor junior academic staff and trainees
  • Contribute to research capacity building within the department

A competitive remuneration package, which includes basic salary, house allowance, and medical cover as per the University Scheme, will be provided.
