Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and resourceful Advocate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have between 0-3 years of post-admission experience and a strong desire to build a career in a challenging and rewarding environment. This role is perfect for a self-reliant individual who can manage tasks proactively and drive matters forward with a high degree of autonomy. The Advocate will handle a range of responsibilities, providing crucial support to the partners while managing their own assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Research and Advisory: Conduct in-depth legal research and draft well-reasoned legal opinions, memoranda, and client advisories.
  • Drafting and Review: Prepare, review, and perfect a wide array of legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, commercial agreements, and conveyancing instruments.
  • Case and File Management: Meticulously manage client files from instruction to completion, ensuring all deadlines are diarized and met.
  • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients, provide timely updates, and manage client relationships with professionalism and care.
  • Court and Registry Attendance: Represent the firm and its clients in various courts, tribunals, and registries; file court documents and conduct legal processes efficiently.
  • Office Presence: Maintain a consistent and reliable presence at the firm’s Nairobi office to attend to clients, collaborate with the team, and ensure seamless daily operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.
  • A Post-Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
  • Must be admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
  • Possess a valid Practicing Certificate for the current year.
  • 0-3 years of post-admission experience in a law firm.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent command of English and Kiswahili (both written and spoken).
  • Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

The position is available for immediate start.
