About the Role
What You’ll Do as a Advancing Product Designer – Zeraki Finance
- Deliver user-centered designs for small to moderate features—wireframes, mockups, and prototypes—using Zeraki’s design system.
- Design clear and usable journeys for common finance tasks like fee payment, reconciliation, and approvals.
- Apply mobile-first principles, with a focus on low bandwidth and shared device scenarios.
- Collaborate with PMs and engineers throughout the product design process—problem framing, hypothesis creation, flows, wireframes, handoff, and QA.
- Contribute to team critiques and actively apply feedback to improve clarity, usability, and context alignment.
- Incorporate accounting knowledge (e.g., double-entry basics, reconciliation processes) into your design flows for accuracy and relevance.
- Test your designs on real devices and iterate based on stakeholder or user feedback.
- Track usability impact post-launch and support continuous improvement.
Requirements of Advancing Product Designer – Zeraki Finance
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years experience in UX/UI design or interaction design.
- Familiarity with basic accounting/finance workflows (e.g., reconciling payments, ledgers, cash flow tracking).
- Comfortable using Figma, and familiar with design systems and responsive layouts.
- Demonstrated ability to create simple, clear user flows.
- Strong communication skills—able to present design work clearly to teammates and stakeholders.
- A user-first mindset, with empathy for African school contexts (offline use, mobile-first, low-literacy).
Nice to Have
- Experience working on fintech or operations tools.
- Exposure to user testing or usability research.
- Background working with schools or education systems in Africa.
