About the Role

Royal Mabati Factory Limited is looking for a dedicated Systems & Infrastructure Officer responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT hardware, software, local area networks (LAN), and wide area networks (WAN) in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures reliable IT infrastructure to support production processes, minimize downtime, and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware components such as servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
• Manage and troubleshoot software systems, including operating systems and network protocols.
• Oversee LAN and WAN configurations, ensuring secure and efficient data transmission across manufacturing facilities.
• Monitor network performance, conduct regular maintenance, and implement upgrades to support manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IT infrastructure with manufacturing systems like ERP and automation tools.
• Develop and enforce IT policies for hardware and network security, including backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Provide technical support to end-users in resolving hardware, software, LAN, and WAN-related issues.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve infrastructure reliability.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, preferably in a manufacturing setup.
• Strong knowledge of hardware (servers, routers, switches) and software systems.
• Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs) and tools for LAN/WAN management.
• Experience with manufacturing-specific systems, such as SCADA or IoT integration.
• Certifications like CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a production environment.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with non-technical staff.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Infrastructure Uptime:

• Maintain zero-downtime operations for critical hardware, LAN, and WAN systems with 100% availability (less than 25 minutes of unplanned downtime per month).

Issue Resolution Time:

• Resolve all infrastructure-related tickets with 100% of high-priority issues resolved within 4 hours and an average resolution time under 2 hours.

Onboarding Support Efficiency:

• Complete 100% of IT setup requests within 48 hours, supporting at least 5 teams per quarter.

Security and Backup Compliance:

• Ensure 100% compliance with backup success rates and zero incidents related to hardware/network vulnerabilities.

Cost Optimization:

• Achieve a 15% reduction in hardware/network repair costs year-over-year while maintaining 100% asset utilization.

Capacity Scalability:

• Support 100% successful integration of new devices/users (up to 20% quarterly growth) with less than 5% latency increase.

User Satisfaction:

• Ensure 100% resolution of user-reported issues on first contact with a quarterly satisfaction score of 95% or higher.
