Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Intern with a strong background in Cooperative Management, Business Administration, Banking & Finance / Accounting / Economics, Microfinance to promote and sell our suite of solutions. These include Training & Capacity Development, Data Solutions Excellence, Research & Insights Leadership, Technology & Innovation Enablers, and Organizational Growth & Sustainability Solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solution-based selling, with the ability to understand client needs, present tailored offerings, and build long-term business relationships across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities for the organization’s solutions portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with corporates, NGOs, government institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct needs assessments with clients to recommend tailored solutions that address organizational challenges in areas of training, data, research, innovation, and growth.
- Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations.
- Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets, contributing to overall revenue growth.
- Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to align sales efforts with solution offerings.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics.
- Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and pipeline updates for management.
- Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by coordinating with service delivery teams for the smooth implementation of solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Cooperative Management, Business Administration, Banking & Finance / Accounting / Economics, Microfinance, or a related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or relationship management within the cooperative, financial services, pensions, or insurance sector.
- Solid understanding of SACCO operations, pension scheme structures, and regulatory environment.
- Professional certifications in pensions, financial services, or cooperative management will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience (2 years) in B2B sales, business development, or client relationship management, preferably in professional services, consulting, training, or data-driven sectors.
- Strong understanding of solution-based selling with the ability to communicate value propositions clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior decision-makers across organizations.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, target-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
