Our client is an Internet Service Provider in Kenya, offering high-speed fiber wireless internet solutions. They are currently seeking a Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our wireless and Fiber network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, with experience in both wireless and Fiber technologies. They will work closely with other teams to ensure the highest level of network performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain wireless and Fiber network infrastructure.
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, and access points.
- Monitor network performance and ensure optimal operation.
- Perform regular network maintenance and upgrades.
- Collaborate with other teams to address network issues and provide technical support.
- Implement security measures to protect network integrity and data.
- Maintain documentation of network configurations and changes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in network technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Huawei will be an added advantage
- Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VLAN, OSPF, BGP).
- Experience with wireless networking (e.g., Wi-Fi, PtP and PtMP) and Fiber optic technologies.
- Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting network devices.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably with an ISP.
- Experience with network design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with wireless and Fiber technologies
- Strong knowledge of network architecture and protocols.
- Proficient in using network monitoring and management tools.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
- Familiarity with network security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Must be proficient with Cambium products and management tools,
- Knowledge in NMS platform
