Summary:

Looking for an engineering job in Kenya?  Bible Translation & Literacy is recruiting a Maintenance Technician position. The job is based in Nairobi. Proficiency in electrical and plumbing systems maintenance is required.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance of the Centre’s facilities, with a primary focus on electrical and plumbing systems, to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

  • Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance of buildings, equipment, and utilities.
  • Monitor water and power systems to ensure efficient operation.
  • Maintain maintenance records and report identified faults.
  • Support renovation, repair, and improvement projects as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, Plumbing, Building
  • Services, or another related technical field from a recognized institution.
  • At least three-years experience of practical maintenance experience in a hotel, institution,
  • commercial facility, or similar environment.
  • Relevant trade certification and/or valid electrical licensing where applicable.
  • Demonstrated competence in both electrical and plumbing works.
  • Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
