Job Description:

We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend PHP Developer with 2–3 years of professional experience to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will design, build, maintain, and improve backend systems and APIs using native PHP and frameworks such as Laravel.

You will work on new and existing applications, integrate third-party services, optimize database performance, and collaborate with other team members to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using PHP, Laravel, or Symfony.
• Build and maintain secure, scalable, and well-documented REST APIs.
• Support, troubleshoot, and improve existing systems and legacy applications.
• Integrate third-party APIs, payment services, communication platforms, and other external systems.
• Design and optimize MySQL databases, queries, schemas, and indexes.
• Identify and resolve application bugs, performance issues, and system failures.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-structured code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards.
• Write unit, integration, and API tests.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
• Document APIs, technical decisions, system changes, and integration processes.
• Use Git and follow established version-control and deployment workflows.
• Apply security best practices when handling authentication, authorization, and sensitive data.

Qualifications:

• Over 3 years of professional experience in backend development using PHP.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and modern PHP practices.
• Practical experience with Laravel, or a similar PHP framework.
• Experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL, including database design and query optimization.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software-development workflows.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization methods, including sessions, tokens, and role-based access control.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain existing applications.
• Good understanding of software-design principles, coding standards, and common design patterns.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
