Responsibilities

An officer at this level will work under the supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:

• Implementing Standard Operating Procedures;
• Preparing Samples, solutions and reagents for testing;
• Assisting in setting up the necessary requirements to perform Certificate Tests (PTs) and or Inter Laboratory Comparison (ILC) Tests
• Assigning column numbers after verification exercise –
• Performing Class A glassware verification process
• Carrying out performance verification on analytical equipment (weight checks on analytical balances, pH meter etc…)
• Implementing Biosafety and biosecurity framework in the laboratory.
• Implementing quality management system and risk strategies
• Cleaning of specialized equipment;
• Validating of cleaning processes including glassware, equipment and Biological analysis surfaces;
• Participating in Identification of Risks in the laboratory and mitigation measurers
• Participating in surveys including Post Market Surveillances of HPTs

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

• Cumulative service period of three (3) years at the grade of Laboratory Analyst II or in a comparable position;

Successful candidates shall be placed on contract for a period of one (1) year. Other terms and conditions of service shall be guided by the provisions of the National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL) approved Human Resource Instruments.
