Job Description
- To implement the Division’s mandates by: preparing and implementing mine plans designs, mine scheduling, waste rock management and land reclamation plans; managing run of mine stock piles; preparing applications for mineral rights and periodical performance reports on mineral rights; preparing reports and instructions for geotechnical operations; and implementing mine environmental, safety and health regulations.
- To implement the Division’s mandates by preparing designs and supervising installation of mineral processing plants; implement mineral processing waste plan and mine safety, environment and health regulations; manage mineral products stock piles and supervise and prepare reports for metallurgical test.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare applications for and periodical performance reports of mineral rights
- Prepare and implement mine plans
- Prepare reports and instructions for geotechnical operations
- Prepare and implement mine scheduling
- Prepare and implement waste rock management plans
- Management of run of mine stockpiles
- Implement mine safety, environment and health regulations in mining operations
Requirement for Appointment
- A person shall be qualified for appointment as the Mining Engineer if that person meets the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in either, mining, mineral processing, extractive metallurgy or civil engineering
