Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • The duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
  • Manage the end-to-end operations of the LMS (Moodle/Canvas/Blackboard), including course provisioning, user management, and plugin integration.
  • Collaborate with faculty to design SCORM/xAPI compliant content, ensuring all digital materials meet Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
  • Deploy AI-driven helpdesk bots to handle routine LMS queries, and manage Tier 2/3 technical support for live classes.
  • Moderate forums and implement gamification strategies (badges, leaderboards) to increase learner engagement.
  • Pursue professional development and implement innovative strategies to enhance online education.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • For appointment to this grade, one MUST have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Business IT or a related field from an accredited and recognized University is required.
  • Deep expertise in Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard is necessary.
  • Competence is necessary in eLearning Standards including SCORM, xAPI (Tin Can), and LTI integrations.
  • A balance is required between team and individual responsibilities, exhibiting objectivity and openness to others’ views.
  • Strong empathy, customer service orientation, and instructional design basics are essential.

For appointment to this grade, one MUST have:

  •  Relevant Professional Certifications including:
  • Moodle Educator Certificate (MEC) qualification OR Blackboard Certified Specialist qualification.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation qualification for Service Management.
  • CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies) qualification.
  • Google UX Design Professional Certificate qualification.
