Human Resource Manager (80K-100K)

Reporting to : Directors

Salary : 80,000 – 100,000 Kshs


Our client is a Christian non-profit organization that runs a well-established school in grades 1- 8 located in Nakuru seeking a Human Resource Manager who will oversee all HR activities and initiatives within the school, ensuring that staff management aligns with the school’s mission and vision. The ideal candidate will have 6-7 years of HR experience in a school environment and a deep understanding of managing personnel in an educational setting. You will be responsible for recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll compliance, and promoting a positive work culture in line with the foundation’s Christian principles.

  • Develop and implement HR policies aligned with the school’s goals and Christian values.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviews, hiring, onboarding, and employee retention strategies.
  • Oversee employee relations, including handling grievances, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Develop and implement performance management systems, including conducting evaluations, and facilitating professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll, Kenyan labor laws, educational standards, and foundation’s policies.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Provide advice and support to school management on HR matters, including workforce planning and organizational development.
  • Manage staff benefits, and compensation plans in line with budget constraints.
  • Facilitate training programs and workshops that align with the school’s development goals and educational standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of staff wellness initiatives.
  • Lead efforts in staff spiritual engagement, ensuring alignment with the Christian ethos of the organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 6-7 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrate experience in HR policy development, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Experience working in a faith-based or Christian organization is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage staff at all levels.
  • Ability to uphold and promote the Christian values of the organization.
  • CHRP (Certified Human Resource Professional) certification is an added advantage
