We are seeking a qualified and experienced Advocate to join our legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing litigation matters, providing legal advisory services, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and representing the organisation in court and other legal proceedings.

The role requires a proactive and commercially aware legal professional with strong litigation experience, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple legal matters effectively.

  • Manage and handle litigation matters from inception through to conclusion.
  • Represent the organisation in court proceedings, tribunals, and other legal forums.
  • Draft, review, and prepare pleadings, contracts, agreements, legal opinions, and other legal documents.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on a range of corporate and operational matters.
  • Conduct legal research and advise on applicable laws, regulations, and emerging legal developments.
  • Manage case files, court documents, legal records, and litigation schedules.
  • Liaise with clients, courts, advocates, insurance companies, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Monitor court deadlines, hearings, rulings, and other legal milestones to ensure timely action.
  • Assess legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on ongoing litigation and other legal matters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate and/or proof of application for the current practicing certificate.
  • 2–3 years’ post-admission experience in legal practice, preferably with strong litigation exposure.
  • Proven experience in handling litigation and representing clients in court.
  • Knowledge of insurance law and experience within the insurance sector will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters and deliver high-quality work.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in Kikuyu and/or Nairobi.
