The accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of a coffee nurseries business. The role ensures accurate financial records, compliance with statutory and tax requirements, effective cash and inventory control, and timely financial reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Location: Kirinyaga County
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate accounting records for all nursery operations, including sales of seedlings, production costs, expenses, and operational inputs and supplies.
Cash, Sales & Inventory Control
- Perform reconciliations, monitor seedling sales and inventory levels, and investigate discrepancies.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare management accounts, cash flow reports, and cost analyses to support budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making, taking into account seasonal agricultural cycles.
Tax, Payroll & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and statutory obligations and maintain proper documentation.
Audit, Controls & Vendor Management
Support internal and external audits, maintain effective internal controls, and manage supplier accounts, payments, and reconciliations.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Provide financial and administrative support to management, enforce financial policies and procedures, and handle accounting-related queries from staff, customers, and suppliers.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by Management.

Technical skills
- Must be a CPA(K) finalist or equivalent.
- Holder of a Diploma in Accounting or related field.
- Proficiency in MS Office and financial software.
- Proven experience in accounting and finance field.
