How Outsourcing HR Has Changed e-Mobilis Technology Institute Processes

e-Mobilis Technology Institute has been outsourcing our HR consultancy services since 2019 to help streamline HR processes in their organization. We have successfully recruited, trained, and consulted for them on HR matters that have impacted their organization.

We were privileged to sit down with Ednah Karijo, the Program Manager at e-Mobilis Technology Institute, to find out how they are finding their experience with Corporate Staffing Services.

1. Tell us a little bit about e-Mobilis Technology Institute

e-Mobilis Technology Institute an award-winning ICT and digital training institution based in Westlands Nairobi. We are an accredited institution by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology as a TVET. Our core business is to offer ICT and digital training to young people to prepare them for the future of work. We run several programs and have been in existence for 12 years.

2. How did you know about Corporate Staffing Services (CSS), and what services have you received so far?

We have known and worked with CSS since 2019 when we were doing a massive recruitment of 150+ employees for the Ajira Digital program.

That is how we sourced CSS to help with the end-to-end recruitment process to ensure a fair process and the right candidate in terms of qualifications and geography. Based on their previous experience and background in CSS, they were qualified to take on such a delicate and significant task.

3. How has the journey been so far?

The journey has been good so far. We have further engaged Corporate Staffing on further services because it is one thing to onboard a big group, and it is another to manage them while abiding by the proper HR practices. We needed a firm to support us with that. That is how CSS started offering dedicated monthly HR support to our team.

Even before that, they helped us create an HR manual for the project we had started, which streamlined our services. They helped us develop contracts for 150+ employees and manage HR issues and other matters.

4. Why did you decide to engage Corporate Staffing long-term for HR consultancy services, and why have you chosen to stick with Corporate Staffing to date?

One key factor was that CSS was the face of the HR component of e-Mobilis and the Ajira Digital Program. Because they had recruited 150+ candidates, they understood the nature of the team.

There were additional services we hadn’t anticipated, but CSS was willing to assist. For instance, regarding the HR manual, CSS made us see the importance of putting processes, documentation, and structures in place.

They were always there to give us strategic advice on HR matters. They were also available on the phone to help for free with employee issues that would arise even before we began the official monthly HR support.

We are glad that CSS is an organization that understands where we have come from and are ready to help.

5. How has the engagement with Corporate Staffing contributed to the success of your business?

It has been an exciting journey with CSS. It is good when you have a business partner who understands your business and your strengths, and areas you need to improve on and is always willing to help you achieve your goals. It has been a cordial, professional, and fulfilling relationship.

As a result, we have seen an improvement in the organizational culture, increased employee motivation, and streamlined employee documentation.

Recently, we have launched employee of the month awards, which have helped motivate the team. We are also about to roll out an employee satisfaction survey through CSS.

We have seen a significant change when it comes to managing the people and also the HR processes and documentation.
