The Head Housekeeper, will oversee daily housekeeping operations, mentor staff, and deliver personalised guest experiences. This hands-on leadership role ensures all guest suites and shared spaces are flawlessly maintained, aesthetically presented, and aligned with our commitment to exceptional guest service and sustainability.

Roles and responsibilities

• Lead, train, and supervise housekeeping and laundry teams.
• Maintain impeccable room and public area standards through regular inspections and SOP enforcement.
• Coordinate personalised turndown and in-room guest experiences.
• Manage inventory, linen control, and stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety protocols.
• Support sustainability practices using eco-conscious products and processes.
• Collaborate with other departments and report to the Lodge Manager.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality or Housekeeping Management.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a senior housekeeping role in a luxury lodge, safari camp, or 5-star hotel.
• Strong leadership, communication, and training skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and guest service standards.
• Proficiency in English (other languages an advantage).
• MS Office proficiency.
• Previous experience in remote or bush-based hospitality is highly desirable.
